We have focused
our energy on our CD the last year and a half. After reaching the point of opening for acts like the Yellow Jackets,
Spyro Gyra, Larry Carlton, and playing the Super Bowl in 1999, the band took a break and is now back with a purpose. The musicians
we have played with and met along the way have been a big influence on this disk and it may even include a few of them.....
Tony Johnson,originally from
the Twin Cities, on guitar. Tony has superior funk roots as the former guitarist for the incredible Morris Day and The Time. Technical mastery in the studio or on his selection of 14 Stienberger guitars,Tony is the wizard behind the wall
of sound that is Dreaming in Colour today
Kevin Ellis
was first introduced to jazz fusion as a young musician in the St. Louis area
by drummer and jazz great Ronnie Burrage.
He has since shared
the stage with such world renown bassists as Jimmy
Haslip and Stanley Clarke, as well as the late great Ray Brown. Following a life long passion to
assemble a group of musicians that would play instrumental music with a
funk/rock edge in a jazz vein, Kevin founded Dreaming In Colour in 1990. Although often difficult to categorize,
this style of music has more recently been referred to as smooth jazz or C/jazz.
Chris Noonan on drums and percussion
joined the band in 1991. CHirs has played the drums since age 5 and has performed since age 8. HIgh School & College jazz
bands, prog rock, rock cover bands, fusion cover bands,State fairs, the whole list of typical road warrior working drum gigs
,have molded his technique and ability. He has studied in L.A. and Springfield with Dave Weckl, and with Jim Chapin in L.A. He also
attended North Texas State and has been invited to do drum clinics for Yamaha Drums.
